Former CFO Craig Spray told former CFO Woody Phillips in May 2018 he was getting “a lot of push back from the team” about a check request. Spray wrote that “Rick and Sonya are freaking out,” and that “they googled the address and found” that the home at that address was owned by William Winkler, the CFO of then-longtime NRA vendor Ackerman McQueen. That same day, the NRA wrote a $70,000 check to WBB Investments in an attempt to secure a $6.5 million mansion for Wayne LaPierre in Texas. Docket number 2859.
