In 2013, Wayne LaPierre signed an employment agreement in which he agreed to continue to be an “employee” at the National Rifle Association “once [his] term as an officer has ended.” His responsibilities would have included “fundraising for and promoting the NRA generally,” and he would have reported to the Executive Vice President. The agreement stipulated that LaPierre would be paid $1 million in 2014, and then $1.1 million annually between 2015 and 2018. This contract was later superseded by a contract extension drawn up in 2018. Docket number 2976.
