In October 2020, the NRA’s Managing Director of Finance Rick Tedrick informed General Counsel John Frazer and then-CFO Craig Spray that the group’s accounting firm, Aronson, was not willing “to sign the 990’s.” He explained that Aronson felt that “there are so many unknowns,” and “that they do not feel comfortable signing it.” Spray replied to the group: “You have to be kidding me.” The email chain was admitted into evidence on day four of the trial.
