In a 2017 email chain, a handful of NRA employees discussed monthly payments made to NRA board member David Keene, and previously made monthly “payments to the Washington Times before it switched to paying David personally.” In the exchange, NRA finance employee Emily Cummins wrote that “Woody specifically mentioned the Washington Times to me on Tuesday afternoon when I asked him if there were any other ‘secret/side arrangements’ going on to get compensation to various people.” The emails were admitted into evidence on day five of the trial.
